Tips for Identifying an Emergency
You may be wondering when a situation becomes an emergency requiring immediate dental attention. Some cases are more obviously emergencies, such as when your child knocks a tooth out or otherwise suffers trauma to the teeth, gums, or jaw. But in some instances, your child may be experiencing an issue not visible to the naked eye, such as decay or a cracked tooth in the back of his or her mouth.
A good rule of thumb is that if your child has expressed that he or she is in pain or is not eating because of pain, you should consider it an emergency.
If you are still unsure whether you should pursue emergency care, contact Children's Dental of Waltham. Our dentists are accessible throughout the day and after-hours to advise on emergency dentistry.
